The chemical and petrochemical logistics & supply chain professionals’ event not only brought forward the emerging challenges, but also delivered experts’ views on how to move ahead…
Recently, CHEMLOG India 2019, the 5th International Conference & Exhibition on Logistics & Supply Chain of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, concluded in Mumbai. In the last few years, CHEMLOG India has established itself as the most attended event of the country in this niche field. Obviously, the trend further excelled this year. Participation of several new company representatives in the event once again affirmed its importance – more importantly its influence on the decision making process of the country’s chemical logistics.
The discussions and presentations in the event literally addressed all the emerging challenges in the field. Unless the overall outlook of the operators and stake holders changes, the process of transformation will not accelerate and our chemical & petrochemical logistics and supply chain operations will not reach the state of parity with the global standard. However, that is absolutely needed at this fast-growing stage of our economy.
The 5th edition was inaugurated by the Shri N Sivasailam, Special Secretary, Logistics, Department of Commerce, GOI. Delivering the keynote & inaugural address he stressed on the ports and their better utilization, chemical manufacturing going green, management of plastics, digitalization of supply chains & sustainability models.
The theme for the 5th CHEMLOG was Safety & Sustainability of the chemical supply chains which was discussed at length in a panel.
