Positive movements are increasingly shown at the end of 2024 in manufacturing industry activities. This is illustrated by the results of a survey conducted by S&P Global, with the Indonesian Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) in December being 51.2 or a significant increase compared to November which contracted at 49.6.

The chemical industry is one of the sectors that plays an important role in the Indonesian economy. In which the industry also plays a role in supporting various other sectors, including agriculture, construction, and health. The Indonesian government has issued policies that encourage the growth of the chemical industry so that there has been satisfactory development in the last few decades.

A tempting figure was recorded for the trade value in the chemical industry sector which reached USD34.40 billion, where the import value was USD21.07 billion and the export value was USD13.33 billion. This export figure increased by 4.34 percent compared to the 2023 record. And it was recorded in 2022, the chemical industry was the third largest contributor to the non-oil and gas processing industry sector. The chemical industry contributes 10.5% of Indonesia's GDP, and is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 5.5% over the next five years.
