HEDP (Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonic Acid) is an odourless organic phosphorus chemical compound having physical appearance as colourless to yellowish acidic liquid. HEDP is acid corrosion inhibitor and a popular EDTA substitute used in various industrial applications such as industrial water treatment corrosion inhibitor and detergents. HEDP readily chelates with Fe, Cu, and Zn ions to form stable chelating compounds.
